In Henan Province, there are numerous factories producing "sanbengzi" (a type of three-wheeled vehicle). Yanshi in Luoyang is renowned as the "Capital of Three-Wheeled Vehicles in China", boasting the country's sole industrial cluster for three-wheeled motorcycles. Out of every three three-wheeled motorcycles produced nationwide, at least one is manufactured in Yanshi. Within the industrial cluster of Yanshi City, it takes only 30 minutes to assemble a three-wheeled motorcycle by gathering all the necessary parts and components, forming the much-talked-about "30-Minute Industrial Circle" in the industry.
Among them, Northern Yongsheng Motorcycle Company, as a leading enterprise in the industrial agglomeration zone of Yanshi District, boasts an annual production capacity of 300,000 vehicles. So how does it perform in foreign trade? To this end, the reporter spoke with Zhao Liaoyuan, the manager of the Foreign Trade Department of Northern Yongsheng Motorcycle Company in the industrial agglomeration zone of Yanshi District, Luoyang City:
Reporter: When did you discover the foreign market and start doing foreign trade?
Zhao Liaoyuan: Before I came to the company, our products had already started to be exported overseas, around 2003. It has been 21 years now.
Reporter: What channels are generally used to purchase abroad?
Zhao Liaoyuan: Our products are available for purchase both online and offline. Our online sales primarily take place on the Alibaba platform. As for offline sales, there are two main methods. Firstly, foreign merchants can place orders directly when visiting our factory or participating in exhibitions. Secondly, local Chinese individuals can act as intermediaries, placing orders domestically and then selling the products locally.
Reporter: Which countries do you sell your products to? Where are they selling well?
Zhao Liaoyuan: Currently, our products are exported to over 20 countries, including Brazil, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Ghana, etc. Among them, some countries in West Africa have the best sales.
Reporter: How do you ensure the quality of products?
Zhao Liaoyuan: Our export method is to package the parts. We package all the parts and assemble a sample vehicle using the same batch of parts. First, we test the quality of the vehicle, and then ensure that the packaged parts are not missing. In addition, after all the parts arrive at the factory, our quality inspectors will inspect them first, and then package them. After packaging, we assemble the sample vehicle for testing, and only ship it after ensuring that there are no issues with 100% of the parts.
Reporter: How is after-sales service provided abroad?
Zhao Liaoyuan: After our parts arrive at the local site, there will be specialized personnel to assemble them. For new customers, we will provide loading videos to assist them in assembly. During the warranty period, if the damage is not caused by human factors, we will compensate after verification.
Reporter: The domestic "sanbingzi" has become popular overseas. How does the company plan to handle this surge in popularity?
Zhao Liaoyuan: We will strengthen our overseas promotion. At this opportunity, we must ensure the quality of our products. At the same time, we will increase our efforts in new product research and development and market expansion, providing first-class products and services to win customer satisfaction and trust.
